Vladimir “The Janitor” Matyushenko is an accomplished wrestler hailing from the region now referred to as the Republic of Belarus.Upon becoming a legal US citizen, Vlady moved to Reno, Nevada where he earned a degree in Physical Education and Health Science. Following college, Matyushenko spent five years coaching at Lassen College in Northern California where he coached MMA standouts Rampage Jackson and Anthony Johnson.

Vlady’s first MMA fight was in 1997, which makes him one of the oldest veterans still fighting today. We like to think of him as savvy. He’s locked horns with some of the toughest in the sport and his few losses are to giants of the sport like Tito Ortiz, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Jon Jones, and Andrei Arlovski.

Vlady defeated Jamal “The Suit” Patterson to become the last Light Heavyweight champion of the International Fight League before that promotion folded. After that, he returned to the UFC where he’s won three of his last four fights.

Vlady is considered by many to be one of the top ground specialists in mixed martial arts and has a nasty Ground and Pound game. With over 30 professional fights under his belt, he’s one of the pioneers of MMA and on his way to legendary status.
